Kahawa Sukari church whose theme is worship the Lord with gladness is one of the eleven parishes in the Nairobi north presbytery.
The serene church rests on a plot which was donated on 19th February 1992 by the directors of Kahawa Sukari Limited by name Stephen M. Mbugua, Edward R. Kanjabi, the late Paul. Muigai and the late Bethwel Muiruri Laban.
The responsibility of establishing the Sukari church was assigned to PCEA Kimbo church Elders James Berunju and Stephen Kariuki on 5th July 1992 in an occasion where the church plot and other six plots were dedicated by Rev. Francis Njoroge the then Parish Minister, PCEA Mathare Parish.
Most remarkable was the Sunday the 12th July 1992 when the congregation of Kahawa Sukari commenced their first worship service. The first preacher was Rev. Godfrey Ngumi who preached under a tent donated by a member to 29 adults and 20 children. The pioneering Elder was Amos Nganga.
